Mr. William Sim Juay Cheow is a waterproofing specialist by training from Barcelona, Spain. He is a businessman with companies in diverse business activities such as manufacturing of clay bricks, toilet partition and acoustic operable walls. His companies also involved in Lightweight concrete, waste water treatment, crack control for concrete & asphaltic road, erosion control, waterproofing, thermal insulation and recycling of glass into insulation products, energy saving lamps etc.
He is having business venture in Malaysia, Thailand, China and Outer Mongolia (Ulaanbaatar). In 1993, he with a group of Australian and Singaporean partners set up the Australian International School in Singapore. In 2007, the school was sold to UK Educational group.
William is now providing franchising of International school worldwide, under "Australian World Schools(AWS)" with NSW's curriculum and International Baccalaureate. IE Singapore has supported Australian World Schools with grants.
His latest business development involved in aircraft line-maintenance for operator of Boeing and Airbus worldwide. The company is having special "know-how" in clearing aircraft's toilet chokage within one hour that can save operator million of dollar due to flight delay.
His is an honorary Patron of Nanyang Sim Clan Association and a Fellow member of Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management (SIPMM). SIPMM is the organization that provides monthly Purchasing Managers Index to the press for publication. He also served as Advisor to The Maxwell Herbal Club.
During the Tsunamis disaster in 2004, he has donated odourless deodorant to Singapore Civil defence Force, "DARTS" for their rescue operation teams in Banda Aceh and Phuket for spraying on the mask and to eliminate any undesirable stench from badly decomposed corpses. He also contributed same for SCDF's DART Rescue Operation - Earthquake at Yogyakarta & Central Java (Indonesia) in May, 2006. He is now serving in United Nations Association of Singapore as Director, (Special Projects)- (Website: www.unas.org.sg).
He is appointed as Honorary Chairman of Global Business Opportunities Forum 2006 (GBOF). GBOF is one of the organizers for business forum held annually during the Global Entrepolis@ Singapore event.
